Cyathea Orange Giant
Cyathea Orange Giant is a striking and highly sought-after tree fern, named for the distinctive orange tones that appear on its emerging fronds and crown. It forms a tall, slender trunk topped with a spreading canopy of finely divided fronds, creating a dramatic tropical effect. This rare species is perfect for collectors and gardeners looking to add something truly unique to their exotic planting schemes.
In the UK, Cyathea Orange Giant is considered tender and will need protection during the colder months. It should be grown in a sheltered, frost-free location or overwintered under cover if temperatures are expected to fall below 5°C.
Care:
Plant in rich, moisture-retentive soil with plenty of organic matter. Keep the crown and roots consistently moist, especially during warm weather, and water directly into the crown during the growing season. Provide shelter from strong winds to prevent damage to the fronds. In winter, protect the crown with fleece or mulch and, if possible, move container-grown plants to a greenhouse or conservatory.
Please note, these are big ferns! We endevour to fit them in the boxes undamaged but we may have to trim or bend the odd frond! This will not effect your tree fern!
