Jungle in a Box
Trevesia burckii
Trevesia burckii
The Trevesia burckii is one of the most visually striking plants in the botanical world. Famous for its "Ghost Foot" foliage, the leaves emerge as deeply lobed, hand-like structures that develop intricate "webbing" as the plant matures—looking like giant, glossy green snowflakes.
The Jungle-In-A-Box Experience
While most care guides label this as a strictly tender indoor plant, we like to push the boundaries. We have successfully planted one out in our own Cornish garden and it has survived the winter, proving it is likely hardier than many people realize.
While we still recommend protecting it from hard frosts, our firsthand experience shows it is a resilient and adaptable grower. It’s a fantastic candidate for a sheltered, subtropical-style garden or a cool conservatory, as well as a statement houseplant.
-
Unique Foliage: Every leaf is a work of art; the "snowflake" pattern becomes more dramatic as the plant ages.
-
Pot Size: Robust 14cm nursery pot with a healthy, established root system.
-
Versatile: Thrives as a low-maintenance houseplant or a "Cornish-hardy" exotic in mild microclimates.
